After completing her pediatric dentistry residency at Staten Island University Hospital, where she had the privilege of being Chief Resident, Dr. Yousaf had the opportunity to work with some amazing pediatric dentists. These mentors played a huge role in shaping her career and helped prepare her for opening her own practice. With their guidance, she was ready to take the leap and create Treehouse Pediatric Dentistry.
When designing her practice, Dr. Yousaf wanted to create a space that was both welcoming and calming for children and parents. She understands that a visit to the dentist can be intimidating, so she envisioned an environment that would feel safe and serene, yet engaging and fun for kids. The goal was always to make every visit feel like a positive experience.
For inspiration, Dr. Yousaf turned to some of her favorite children's stories, like Winnie the Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood. These classic tales are nostalgic for parents but still offer a sense of adventure for kids. The design of the office reflects these themes, with a whimsical, fun vibe that still feels soothing and comforting.
One of her top priorities is for children to leave each appointment feeling excited about coming back. To do this, Dr. Yousaf incorporated things like sensory-calming toys, a mythical tree in the lobby, and a prize room with a red weathered door for kids to choose a toy. These little touches are meant to create a magical and memorable experience that makes each visit feel special.
As a family-oriented practice, Dr. Yousaf wanted to make sure the space was comfortable and accommodating for everyone. Parents are welcome to bring their children and siblings, and there's plenty of room to keep everyone entertained. Sometimes, you might even spot Dr. Yousaf’s toddler walking around or her husband helping with tasks around the office. It’s that homey, welcoming feeling that makes Treehouse Pediatric Dentistry such a special place for families.
